Nabokov’s Polyommatus

 

I read this article on Nabokov’s hypothesis about the evolutionary story of the Polyommatus blues – a butterfly the great twentieth century novelist studied as a self-taught lepidopterist. Again, another example of how the story of nature and the nature of story are inextricably linked.
